10 Year Anniversary Edition is fun for bridge building

Your return to the world of Vigil comes at a dangerous time as the barrier that once protected you from distant realms collapses. Samael, the Fallen, returns with an army of monsters from elsewhere and only a legendary warrior like you can save Vigil from annihilation.

Revision: Ascension: 10 years anniversary edition

If you are a fan of the original Ascension board game, then you won’t want to miss the beautifully remastered 10 Year Anniversary Edition. Designed by many Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour Champions, this new and improved board game features a premium 10th anniversary game board and all-new cart art.

Justin Gary, Rob Dougherty and Brian Kibler designed the fantastic deckbuilder Ascension ten years ago, which ended up appearing in several expansion packs like Storm of souls and Ascension: Immortal Heroes. Today, the epic and popular card game is back to commemorate its tenth anniversary.

Ascension can be played with two to four players and takes around 30 minutes to play until a win. The Anniversary Edition of the Year includes 181 beautifully designed cards, 50 red and white Honor Tokens, a premium game board, and an easy-to-follow rulebook. While the game is not overly complicated, it is recommended that only players thirteen and over play it.

It took about ten minutes to set up the board for the first time, and about five of those minutes were spent trying to learn the rules and figuring out who got which card and when. At the top of the deck you place the Singular Cultist card next to the purchasable Heavy Infantry and Mystic cards, underneath is a row of six cards in the center of the board which are also available for purchase. These cards are Heroes, Constructs, and Monsters.

Each turn, players draw five cards from their personal decks, using the total Runes or Power available to purchase new cards. Depending on the card drawn, players will have to fight monsters, discard and banish various cards, and earn honor points, which ultimately will allow them to win the game. There are so many different possibilities, combinations and outcomes that the gameplay will never be the same every time you play.

If you’ve never played Ascension before or if you are a newbie to deck building games then the 10th Anniversary Edition may be the perfect board game for you. It’s fun to play with two or more friends, it’s fairly easy to learn and master, and the gameplay possibilities are endless. That’s all the fun of overly complicated deckbuilding games, with ease and accessibility for someone who finds day-long campaigns intimidating.

Ascension: 10 years anniversary edition is available for pre-order for $ 40 at most retailers, and it’s hitting shelves August 13, 2021.
