Markforged announces new global headquarters to accommodate business growth

Materials manufacturing plant will also nearly double its footprint in 2022

WATERTOWN, Massachusetts, December 22, 2021– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Markforged (NYSE: MKFG), creator of integrated metal and carbon fiber additive manufacturing platform The Digital Forge, today announced plans to relocate its global headquarters to Waltham, Mass. The new headquarters unite Markforged employees who worked from two different facilities in Watertown into one location at 60 Tower Road, and Markforged will almost double its footprint to enable future growth.

The new head office will occupy 120,000 square feet over four floors. This modern LEED Gold certified workspace can accommodate over 500 team members with an expansive 5,000 square foot rooftop terrace, tall windows with natural light and an interactive product showroom that will create an environment of collaboration for Markforged employees and is within walking distance of local restaurants and shops. Additionally, the company will build state-of-the-art engineering facilities and labs for its teams to continue delivering the accelerated and innovative product roadmap around the hardware, software and consumables that make up Digital Forge. Markforged plans to complete the move in fall 2022.

Additionally, as Markforged seeks to meet demand for its products, it will also nearly double the size of its Billerica, Mass., Filament manufacturing plant in 2022 by adding nearly 22,000 square feet, bringing the total footprint at 46,000 square feet. Markforged expects this expansion to be completed by the end of next year.
